Today is an important day for us, its the day to test for pregnancy in the hospital. Woke up at 7.30am and started to prepare myself to go KKH for the test. I'm quite worried and tense in the morning as I'm not sure if the result is going to be the same as what is shown on the pregnancy test?
Reached there about 8.30am, and shortly my turn for the blood test. Nurse told me that the result will be out between 1 - 4pm. I told the nurse if it is possible to announce the result once it is out and she says as soon as the result is out, they will call. From my previous experience, normally the result should be out before noon. So I head home right after the test, and went back to study for test tonight.
Trying to focus as much as possible and felt tired in a short while. Recently, I felt so lerthargic and I hope It is the side effect from prgenancy. If it is true, then I would believe my baby loves to sleep in the day and not in the night, because night time I seem to be more awake in the night.
Felt so hungry at as early as 11.30am and I went down to buy lunch and tabao back. While I'm eating my fishball noodle, my phone rang and expecting it to divert to my home phone. And who knows my home phone was not on and I missed the call. From the number I knew it was a call from KKIVF. I tried to call back but it is a general line and the nurse says she couldn't trace who call and asked me to wait for her to return call. I was sad and dissapointed and keep trying my luck to dial the number to KKIVF. Finally, I got through and the nurse who called me attended to me. First she introduced herself and asked to verify my NRIC no. After that she confirmed if I did went to KKH for pregnancy test, after that she says "Congratulation Miss Lau, you are PREGNANT!" At that moment I was calm and happy and replied her "Thank You", though I have already knew what's the outcome but didn't want to assure it is true till the blood test. I was told to go back to KKIVF for prescription and appointment booking with a doctor 2 weeks later.
From the letter I received from the nurse, I saw that my Beta HCG was 422.6 IU/L which was very high!
They have a refernce info like:
< 5 IU/L (Non Pregnant)
B HCG levels between 5 IU/L and 25 IU/L maybe indicative of early pregnancy.
So my beta confirm I am pregnant!!!
I went back about 2.30pm, and I was prescribed hormone pills to support the baby so called "An Tai Yao" and some folic acid for a month.
My next appointment on 25 July for my 1st ultrasound scan and to see my gynae...
Another amazing thing, is that our test for tonight will be cancelled as one of my classmate is not able to come for the test in time....This is so coincidence as I really have no time to study and not much has gone into my brain.
God must have blessed me with such smooth plans for me!
